Getting Here

The main way to get to Sun Peaks is via Kamloops, B.C.  Sun Peaks is an easy 45-minute drive from Kamloops - the road is in very good shape.

Flights - For anyone who wants to fly to Kamloops, whether from Canada or elsewhere, you can fly via Vancouver, B.C. as well as via Calgary, Alberta.  We come from Eastern Canada and prefer travelling via Calgary.  There are some other cities in Western Canada that have direct flights to Kamloops, but anyone travelling from Eastern Canada or outside Canada will likely find it easiest to fly to Vancouver or Calgary and then to Kamloops.

Rental Cars - Once in Kamloops, there are many car rental options right at the Kamloops Airport.  There are also many rental options near to the airport, but you will need to take a taxi to any rental agency that is not at the airport.  If you are bringing gear and want to rent a car, it is probably best just to rent from one of the car rental agencies  at the airport.

Shuttle/Taxi Service - Another option is to take a shuttle or taxi from the Kamloops Airport. So far we have used Sun Star Shuttle, which is a family-owned and operated business.  We were very happy with the service.  We have also used Tastefull Excursions and found it quite reasonable.  Once you are in Sun Peaks, unless you plan on going to Kamloops for a visit or doing some other trek that requires driving, you likely do not really need a car if you are staying at Village Walk as the Village, ski lifts, etc. are all very close.

Driving - For those who may be driving from within Western Canada, Sun Peaks is about a 4.5 hour drive from Vancouver and 4 hours from Surrey.  It is about a 2.5 hour drive from Kelowna, B.C. and is a 7.5 hour drive from Calgary.  For those who might drive from the U.S., it is about a 5.5 hour drive from Seattle, WA.
